2009 until Infinity

What it do world? It's been a while since i've actually WRITTEN out an actual blog lol. Lately I just either have been too lazy to say much or didn't feel like I had too much to say. You gotta admit i post dope videos tho lol. How have you guys been doing though? Good I hope. I realize that I've lost a few followers lately and gained a few new ones. To the ones I've lost I hope yall are doin aight and to those I've gained, thanks for following me and I look forward to hearing what you guys have to say. Lately I've been doing a lot of thinking and I feel like I've kind of come to a crossroads of sorts when it comes to where I'm going in life. In the 20 years I've been alive so far I've been through alot, seen alot, had some amazing moments and some not so amazing ones lol. Been in a lot of short relationships and one really meaningful one. Seen birth and experienced death. Lost some good friends and made some GREAT ones. All in all I guess i'm saying I've done quite a bit and yet i still feel like i havent done shit yet XD. Ever since I was a youngin my head's always been closer to the clouds than it was to the ground and because of this I've always had these big aspirations for my life. This would cause me to be really hard of myself with even the slightest failure because the thought of being just average irked me. As I'm maturing though (even though i still have huge dreams) I'm beginning to be okay with starting off small or average because if you start great you that means u can't accept growth. Over the last year I've kind of had what you could call a "rest period". After the loss of my great grandmother (who I was very close to) and then having my heartbroken by my first love I found myself in a really dark place which made it impossible for me to perform in school. So because of this me parents suggested that I take Spring semester off to get myself back together. During my time off I feel like I've matured quite a bit and gotten more in tune with myself. I'm slowly beginning to realize certain things and things that I used to regret I no longer regret because without them I wouldn't be me. Going into the fall semester I'm feeling better than ever and more confident about things. I feel like things are beginning to fall into place in my life and things are only gonna continue to get better from here on out. I'm gonna be taking Screenwriting and Photographic Expression this semester which I'm definitely looking forward to because both will help me sharpen my craft when it comes to filmmaking and will only put me that much closer on the path to my dreams of acting and directing. At this current moment I can't tell you how things will turn out but what I can tell you is that I feel damn good about it. All i can do is be hopeful and be optimistic, form 2009 till infinity. Rock on from Krypton

Here's the song I was listening to that put me in the zone to do this post. Good stuff.

Getcha Some

This is the debut video of the first single from one of my favorite up and coming rappers, Big Sean's, debut album Finally Famous. I've been rockin with Big Sean ever since I first heard this song about a year and a half ago (the song's been on both of his mixtapes) and I'm so glad that they finally released a video for it because it's fuckin RIDICULOUS. I go ahead and say it right now, Big Sean has officially just SMASHED Drake and Kid Cudi when it comes to debut videos because this video looks like a video from a veteran in the game. Big Sean hooked up with Hype Williams, Kanye West and a japanese director who I forgot the name of (i think it was Yoshi) to craft this visual masterpiece of a video which does a great job of letting Big Sean shine (there are no video girls or anything in the video). People are gonna eat this song up when it's officially dropped and I'm happy because I'm a big fan of the guy. Kanye sure knows how to pick talent. Until next time, Rock on from Krypton.

Mr Solo Dolo

If i was floating around in space I wonder if this ong would be playing in the background....

I posted the song Mr Solo Dolo a while back and apparantly that was the unmastered version. Recently Kid Cudi performed this song live in NY and man does it sound amazing. The eeiry fairytale-esque instrumental backed by a majestic and omnious sounding orchestra combined with Cudi's stoner-like delivery cause this song to become a dream in itself every time I listen to it. If this is what Cudi's album is gonna sound like then I think I know what I'm gonna be listening to for the rest of the year. Check out the video guys, even if ur not a Cudi fan you may appreciate this performance. Rock on from Krypton.

Sorry for the overhaul of videos lately but I've just been seeing a lot of things that I like recently that I thought I'd share w/ yall cuz i love yall lol. This is the video for Remember Me feat Mary J Blige (who i'm actually not a huge fan of for some reason) which is the first single off of the re-release of T.I.'s most recent album called Paper Chase: Case Closed. I like the song and the video does a really good job of broadening the message of the song. I really like how they showed different stories and perspectives in the video and i liked the kind of raw and gritty editing (I'm a sucker for gritty and raw cinematography). I hope that his time in prison is productive and that once Tip gets out he can keep moving and keep setting a good example for young ones out there. Till next time, Rock on from Krypton

The One

"Sex and Drugs and Dirty money/on the race to rule the world"

I fuckin LOVE this song and the video breathes some more life into it to make me love it even more. I wish i knew who it was that sang the chorus because it sounds like a sample but it says that there was no sample used. Oh well w/e the case may be, this song is dope as all hell and the video does it full justice. Rock on from Krypton

Lust for HoustonAtlantaVegas

Drake - Lust For Life x HoustonAtlantaVegas [mash-up video] from 5846 Productions on Vimeo.

I been slackin on my blog game lately but seeing as ppl ain't really been hittin it up I thought i'd take a little break lol. Soon I'm gonna be hitting up this anime convention in Baltimore called Otakon so expect MAD pictures soon of the event. For now i just wanted to drop this dope fan video mashup for Lust for Life and HoustonAtlantaVegas (which i think shoulda been a single) off of Drake's So Far Gone mixtape. It takes scenes from an really good asian movie called 2046 (check it out) and sets the mood of the tracks really well. Till I return to my former blogger glory (lol), Rock on from Krypton

P.S. oh yea and before I forget check out this new track from my boy Hassani Kwess called Kwess Is Frm Olympian (http://www.imeem.com/people/rIf-VKK/) and tell me watchu think. Drop by his blog (http://kwessjinzmark.tumblr.com/) sometime as well for updates

Put Me On

I'm really feelin this video for Put Me On which is a track off of Bobby Ray's, B.o.B. vs Bobby Ray mixtape (which is dope as all hell for those of yall who haven't heard it yet). It's a real chill video that invokes a very 90s feel (as it should since he's rapping over Bonita Applebaum) and you can tell that it's affiliated with Rebook because the Classics are all over the video. Check it out if a got nothing else to do lol. Rock on from Krypton

Is It Just Me?

Oh has Bow Wow stepped his game the FUCK up! I've honestly been a fan of this dude for a minute (I'm not ashamed to say it) but I feel like he's never really reached his full potential. But with the recent tracks he's been puttin out this dude is showin that he's really stepping his game up lyrically and showin that he's hungry to be one of the best. I'm proud of this dude, it's long overdue. Rock on from Krypton

They Don't Care About Us

With all the negativity in the media going on I just wanted to post my all time favorite video by MJ which also happens to be his HARDEST (in my opinion) song that he's ever made. I think it's fitting for how the media will always try and find dirt on people to bring out the worst in them. Enjoy. Till next time, Rock on from Krypton

Oh yea and I hope everyone had a great July 4th!

Best I Ever Had

Drake "Best I Ever Had" from kwest on Vimeo.

"Take that D like the champions that you are!!!"

So probably the most widely anticipated video in recent memory is finally here and do I think it lived up to the hype? No, but for some reason I'm glad that it didn't. Now I won't lie, when I heard this song was gonna be made into a video, I was expecting a Hype Williams level epic video filled with epic movie camera pans, beautiful exotic locations and stuff like that. But this video is NOTHING like that which makes me kinda glad because they didn't go the tradional eye candy w/ no substance route. Drake plays the coach of an all female basketball team (and all of em look DAMN good, had me droolin!) that isn't very good but Drake always encourages them by telling them that they're the best. Now I like this concept because I've been on a basketball team before and the job of a coach is not only to lead the team to victory but to encourage them and build up their spirits and Kanye cleverly used that element of coaching to put an interesting spin on female empowerment (hats off to you Mr West). The video is very enjoyabale to watch and it's filled with a lot of slick humor that may go over a few peoples heads. You can definately tell that Yeezy has a thing for exotic, big breasted women because this video is full of them which I have absolutely NO problem with lol. There were some cameos in there as well and I'm glad that they just stayed as cameos (i'm kinda blown Nikki Minaj wasn't on the team...*sigh* a man can dream...). I was a little confused by the ending though because it kinda left you hanging but it doesn't take that much away from the video. Overall though, while to a lot of people this video might not live up to their expectations, I was very pleased with it and it'll serve as a great opener to Drake's album and should tie people over until his next single which I'm guessing will be more grandoise. Hope yall enjoy it. Till next time, Rock on from Krypton
