Skank Robber Supernova

"I think it's Chris Brown's, I know it's mine because it keeps kickin me!"

I saw this on during the BET Awards and I thought it was fuckin hilarity. I usually don't like things like this but for some reason i found this really really amusing XD. If this was bein made into a movie i'd definately download that joint lol. Jamie Foxx and Martin are FOOLS lol.

MR HUDSON [FEAT KANYE WEST] - SUPERNOVA from MrHudson on Vimeo.

Here's the video for Supernova, the first single off of one of Kanye's new artists, Mr Hudson's, album Straight No Chaser featuring Yeezy himself. I heard the song a while back and I've been rockin with it for a while now. The video itself is pretty dope, I really like the "Supernova" effect that they use in the video and I think it serves as a good introduction of Mr Hudson to American audiences (He's been around for awhile in the British music scene). Hope ya enjoy it. Till next time, Rock on from Krypton

D.O.A.

"Ye told me to kill em just to keep it 100"

Indeed you did Jay, indeed you did. The video is bananas, I love everything about it. It's Jay-Z at his best complete with Michael Bay-esque explosions, Godfather-like swag and epic pan shots of Jay overlooking the city. Welcome back Hov. Rock on from Krypton

BET Awards

Ok i wasn't even gonna blog for the rest of the night but I just finished watchin the BET Awards. Nowadays I just tend to stay away from BET altogether because it's just filled with ignorant ass reality TV Shows, 106&Park (which i can't stomach anymore) and constant re-runs of Baby Boy and Get Rich or Die Trying, but I gotta say the BET Awards was DOPE! First off Jamie Foxx is a great host and had the crowd energized the entire time. Him coming out in the Beat It outfit was hysterical (i KNOW he was hurtin in the damn pants!) and throughout the show people we showin mad love and respect to the King of Pop. Besides the tributes to MJ, the performances for the most part were really good as well. My personal favs were Keri Hilson (babygirl KILLLLED it), Jamie Foxx f/ T-Pain & Travis Barker (the most ridiculous performance in the entire show), Beyonce (her performance was so beautiful) and...JAY-Z! I remember I posted D.O.A. (Death of Autotune) a while ago bashing it but i dunno after that perfomance of the song and having not heard it in a while I now LOVE that song (I still think autotune is dope when used right tho lol). The live band and the effects were ridiculous. The video for the song is ridiculous too (ima post it tomorrow because it's not up right now). I have some newfound respect for BET after that awards show for keepin it classy and just delivering a dope ass show. I leave yall with a video of Jay-Z's performance. Till next time, Rock on from Krypton.

The Warrior and my Top 10 movies of 09 so far

So I'm a huge fan of asian cinema, especially movies about the fuedal warring period and so when i saw this movie was available on Netflix I had to get it. I got it a little while ago but had been to busy to watch it so I finally sat down today and watched it in it's entirety (it's a 2 and a half hour long movie) and I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite war movies period. The story follows a Korean envoy who travel to China to meet with the Ming Emperor in order to deliver a message to him but end up getting mistaken for spies and exiled. While they are exiled they end up at the encampment where they have a run-in with the Mongols (a barbaric clan of warriors) who have captured the Ming princess. From then on they go to massive and brutal war over the princess which ultimately ends with no real winner. The movie itself is actually quite dark and depressing because at the end of the movie you never quite know if things were truly solved. There was a lot of deaths and each one was painful to watch because the movie does a really good job of using it's 2 and a half hour running span to develop the characters and so seeing them die is heartwrenching. My favorite characters in the movie by far were the "main character" Yesol, a slave with an amazing talent with a staff and a genius in battle, and Jin-lip, a veteran archer who served as the sergant of the Korean army. The war scenes in the movie weren't as massive and epic as say a Lord of the Rings but they were emotional and passionate. The actors in the film did a great job of really putting a lot of emotion into their performances to make you really want them to succeed in the end. My only real complaints with the movie were that at times it seemed that some of the battles would have a lot of unnessecary back and forth moments (it's hard to explain) and also the ending really didn't give you any kind of real conclusion so your left feeling kinda jipped. Overall though, the film was a really great war story and I definately recommend it to anyone who's into asian cinema or war movies. 4/5.

So since we're almost half way through 2009 and I'm a huge movie person, I just wanted to list my top 10 movies of the year so far. You guys should do the same i'd be interested in seeing you guys lists.

1. Watchmen
2. Star Trek
3. The Hangover
4. Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen
5. Terminator Salvation
6. I Love You, Man
7. Push
8. Up
9. Fast & Furious
10. X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I'll probably be back at the end of the year to do this again (if I don't forget) and we'll see how much of this list has changed. Till then I leave yall with this DOPE trailer that I saw in the beginning of Transformers 2 for 2012. I will DEFINITELY be seeing this movie in a big ass movie theater lol. Rock on from Krypton!

Seriously?!

I am so ashamed to be black and from the south at this current moment -_- *hangs head low in shame*

Shamo

So lately I haven't had much to blog about so I decided to do a post on this dope ass manga (japanese comic) that I've been reading lately called Shamo (which directly translates to Fighting Cock). Shamo follows a promising you man named Ryo Narushima who one day snaps and murders his parents without reason. This causes him to be sent to a juvenile delinquit center because he's not 18 yet where he stays for a year. During his stay there he faces a lot of things that change him, one of those things being a man named Kenji Kuroshima who teaches him Banryukai Karate which gives him a new reason for living. When he gets out of the facility he gets sucked into the world of Lethal Fight, a popular televised boxing/mixed martial arts event that pits fighters of different styles against each other in the ring. It's here where Ryo begins to find himself not only as a fighter but as a person. Ryo isn't exactly someone that you would call a hero in any sense of the word. He's a murderer, cocky, paranoid and a sex offender but for some reason I find myself rooting for him as he continues to find himself and strives to be the best. I haven't finished it but from what I've read so far it's truly an amazing read. It's not your typical fighting manga, It explores parts of the human psyche that some books/manga never even try to delve into and challanges the readers to think and really get behind it's characters. This is definately not a manga for everyone, it's very gruesome, dark and heavy so some people wouldn't be able to handle it but if you believe that you can handle it definitely check it out at onemanga.com. Till next time Rock on from Krypton.

R.I.P. to the King of Pop...

"Human Nature" on of my favorite songs by him...

I'm beyond speechless...I don't know why but there's just those people that you never envision dying and he's one of them...Makes me truly realize that no one is exempt...It's gonna be one funky dance party in heaven with him and James Brown...You will DEFINITELY be missed. My Prayers go out to the Jackson family in this grim time...It's a dark day in the fortress so I'm just gonna leave it like this...

A Familiar Face

Today I reconnected with a big piece of my past, my ex (the one i've been talking about for a while now). Before today we hadn't seen each other since....I don't even remember and things weren't exactly the best between us. Recently thought we had a conversation that really helped us understand where one another is coming from and prompted us to arrange for us to meet up for lunch just to see where each other was at. After several failed attempts we finally decided to do it today. I talked to my peoples about it yesterday and they just wanted to make sure that I was ready to see her face to face and that I was going in there with a clear head. Waking up this morning I was kinda anxious but at the same time I was feeling good about everything and keeping a positive mindstate. We decided to meet up at the Student Union at UMD @ around 1 because she had class before that and so I took the bus up there. I listened to music the whole ride up to silence any thoughts that I may develop if I was riding in silence and once I got there I took a deep breath and walked into the Union. She was sitting on the couches that we used to go relax on when we were still together and once we noticed each other we shared a really long hug. One of those hugs that you just hold and let the moment last. It was really nice to be able to do that with her again. We went and got some food from the food court and then just sat back at the couches and caught up. It was almost as if we had never broken up because the connection was still there and the conversation went really well. She was happy to see that I was looking well and thanked me for coming because she was worried that I wouldn't show. We joked around like we always do, laughed and reminisced on some moments that happened there. It was theraputic and nostalgiac at the same time and gave us both a degree of peace. Before we knew it her dad was there to pick her up and we had to say part ways. This time we hugged longer than the first time and I got the feeling that neither one of us wanted to let go but we knew we had to. Kinda like the story of ours lives...heh. As we walked away from each other she texted me right after and we both agreed that we should do this again sometime soon. So I headed back home with a smile on my face and a relative calm in my soul. I can finally say that I've gotten through the storm and I can continue to move forward while knowing that we will always be special to each other. I don't know what will happen between us down the line but as the song goes, "Que Sera Sera...". Until next time, Rock on from Krypton.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the father's out there who are TRULY holding it down for the families out there. Since true fathers are such a hard thing to come by these days its hard to realize just how important that they are to us all. Just go check out the statistics of how bad things tend to be for families without a father. I'm fortunate enough to have both parents and I never take it for granted. I've noticed that there aren't many songs out there giving props to the fathers (and i refuse to put up Dance with my Father by Luther Vandross because EVERRRYYYONE does that) So I'm putting up two songs that I love that display fathers in a positive light. Once again to all the fathers out there and to my own. Thanks for everything, I don't know where I'd be without you. Rock on from Krypton.

Shining Down on you...or not

I was gonna post Shining Down by Lupe Fiasco today (song is RIDICULOUS) but apparantly it was leaked without his permission and so out of respect for him I'm just gonna leave it alone until it OFFICIALLY released. Up top is the video for the Ego (Remix) feat Mr West. I always loved Kanye's verse on this joint and he just keeps getting better lyrically. Check it out if you like.

How's everyone been lately? Seems like alot of people have been busy with their own individual lives (hope only good things) and so I thought I'd check up on the best followers in the world. Me I ain't been up to too much, takin a few photos here and there, still job searchin (Potbelly's is givin me the run around -_-), and just tryna make the most of the days that seem to drag on.

-Thank god that So You Think You Can Dance is back on, it helps me keep my sanity lol. This season looks like it'll be real dope.

-These are some concept pix i took recently, one I used for my new banner and was influenced by both the Star Trek live long and prosper sign and the eye on the back of dollar bills. The other one is basically a picture illustrating the periods of our lives where we lose ourselves to the point where we can't even figure out who we are when we look in the mirror. Hope you like em.

-I been to so many grad partys and cookouts lately that I don't even care about the accomplishment anymore lol. It's sad to say but like i'll all partied out. Mad props to all the graduates tho *checks facebook and sees another invite* FUCCCCCKK!

-Mr Solo Dolo is my favorite all time Kid Cudi song right now. This song pretty much sums up Cudi's style of music, real spacy retrospective type shit. Whenever I hear this song I get tempted to smoke (and I don't smoke) and just stare at the sky. It's an amazing song.

-Besides the world of music i feel like everything's so damn boring right now -_-. Interest me Hollywood! lol.

-I've been watching a lot of old anime lately (it's the best) and I still think Speed Racer has one of the dopest theme songs of all time. Shit is so funky lol. The movie was still dope to me even though so many people hated it lol.

-I recently saw a video of Columbus Short reharsing on stage for a show (I won't post it cuz it's like 10 mins long). Apprantly he's working on an album which doesn't suprise me but what did suprise me is he's pretty damn good. His style kinda reminds me of a fusion of Omarion and Ne-Yo. Let's hope he doesn't turn out to be whack.

-Ahh seeing this video takes me back to high school! lol. I remember back in the late 90s an early 2000s that videos had a more comedic feel to them. Good times, good times.

-I recently saw a bunch of those crazzzyyy german viral videos and scarily enough i think I've been desensitized to them lol. I mean i still cringed but i was trippin out. THEN I saw 1 guy 1 jar....*shudder* there are some sick sick people in this world. *shakes head*

-Apparantly Idris Elba (the dope actor from Daddy's Little Girls and RocknRolla) sings and raps as well and I definately like his style. As far as I know this is the only song that he's released but it's been in HEAVY rotation on my ipod. check it out.

-The Wu is back with another certified banger right here. Raekwon the Chef teams up with Johnny Blaze and Tony Starks to deliver a raw hip-hop track that only the Wu Tang can deliver. I'm definately looking forward to Only Built For Cuban Link II.

Well that's all for not, I got things to see and people to do ;) lol till next time people. Rock on from Krypton.

Must Be The New Divide

Just getting in from a crazy night (good times =D) and before I go to sleep I just wanted to drop the clips for Cassie and Linkin Park's new singles on yall. I'm in love with this song because it's so chill and has a real 90s R&B sound to it. Plus it works with Cassie's slim vocal range well so it's not like she's trying to oversing when we all know the poor girl just doesn't have it in her. The video itself does the song justice and captures that sexy summer vibe. Cassie is fuckin breathtaking in the video, I dunno what it is about this chick but whenever she's on screen I can't look away. Coulda done without Diddy but hey, can't always get watchu want right?

Linkin Park's video for New Divide is phenomenal artistically. It utilizes the datamoshing effect that some may recognize from Kanye West's Welcome to Heartbreak video and seamlessly switches from performance to movie clips to make the video feel like more than just a clip show. I'm feeling the song and I think it matches the feel of the new Transformers movie (which I am SO Stoked about) really well. Definately looking forward to hearing some new Linkin Park material in the near future because I still bang Meteora like it came out yesterday lol. Well that's all until next time, be sure to check out the post below this one and give me some feedback on wat you thought of the video. Night all, Rock on from Krypton

Music & Liqour

This is the video for one of my favorite songs at the moment "Music & Liqour" by Wax (a dope up and coming rapper from Maryland). The video is a really creative and metaphorical look at Wax's struggle with using alcohol to solve all of his problems. Definately a heartfelt song that you can relate to even if your not an alcoholic. I know that I found myself relating to the video even though i'm not a big drinker, sometimes our liqour can be various other people or other harmful things in our lives. My "liqour" is my ex lol. Hope you guys enjoy this video and hit me up with ur feedback. Mad props goin out to Wax and the production crew behind the video. Amazing stuff. Till next time folks, this is everyone's 2nd favorite kryptonian singing out. Rock on from Krypton

Summer Daze

Wass good people of Earth, it's the Kryptonian here returning after a mild emotional slump feeling revitalized and rejuvenated. Thanks to everyone who sent their concerns and words of wisdom my way, much appreciated. Now that summer's starting things should be getting pretty interesting not only in my life but in the world around us so expect dopeness =D. Hope everything going good for all my followers cuz ya know i got love for yall lol.

-Heard Busta's new album in it's entirety and though I wasn't as disappointed as I thought I was gonna be it just doesn't feel like Busta fully. I miss old Busta v_v. There are some dope tracks on there though, especially the intro track were we get a glimpse of the old Busta resurfacing.

-Black Eyed Pea's new album on the other hand I can't stop listening to. Sure it's not the most lyrical complex album in the world but MAN is it fun to listen to. Backed by will.i.am's production the album has a definite party vibe full of electro-pop anthems. That album's definately gonna be in heavy rotation for the summer.

-I've always been curious as to why celebrity marriages and relationships seldom work out. Is it the paparazzi? The fact that you work with so many different celebs on sets that sparks fly? Whatever the case may be, it makes me wonder what it's gonna be like for me once I hit the big leagues. Only time will tell

-I still haven't seen Up! but I did see the preview for Toy Story 3 which had me BOOSTED!!! Toy Story is like my favorite Pixar movie so I will definately be seeing this when it comes out.

-Ima probably be getting more into photography within the coming months so expect some straight photo posts from time to time.

-Battlefield is a dope song and the video is a pretty good look for Jordin Sparks. I do kinda wish the video was a little more edgy to fit the stadium rock vibe of the track but it's all good. Since we're on the topic of Ms Sparks, i got a major celeb crush on that girl. She seems like a real approachable girl plus she's cute as hell and thicka than a snicka! I'd like to climb that girl! lol lemme stop

-ROFLMFAO!! I find this both ridiculous and absolutely hilarious. T-Pain is a trip.

-Who do yall think is gonna win the NBA Finals? Even though Orlando will probably take it to LA in the coming games my money's on the Lakers. Kobe want's it BAD this year and since Lebron is gone I just don't see anything standing in his way this time around.

-This is my JAM!! Mos Def is a beast and his album The Estatic is a classic. Too bad it won't sell alot because of how the general public is.

-Am I the only person who isn't that impressed by Wale's first single Chillin? The song is catchy but I mean the song and the video really aren't all that. Also i don't really see the point of having Lady Gaga on there because the chorus isn't anything special anyway.

-I'm not a HUGE fan on Jay-Z's new record D.O.A. (Death of Autotune). It serves it's purpose but beyond that i'm not very impressed. Plus I'm still not fully understanding why people hate autotune so much. I think when it's used creatively then it sounds dope (ex. 808s & Heartbreak). I think the main problem arises when EVERYONE and their mother wants to start using it because it's the popular thing to do. I think if only a select few people did it, there'd be no real problem.

-If you haven't already check out VICE's blog, that dude is a beast when it comes to photography and he's definately got a special eye for mood pics.

-I'm thinking about auditioning for Season 7 of So You Think You Can Dance but I definately gotta become a better dancer before then. What do you guys think?

-I was listening to College Dropout the other day and laughing my ass off at the Bernie Mac skit. I miss that guy

-As a dance enthusiast I honestly wanna see Omarion and Chris Brown battle each other one day because i think those two are the best dancers in the music business right now and it'd be a dope battle. I see Omarion taking it tho because he may not be as flashy as Chris but he's much more clean.

-Don't you hate season finale's of shows? Seldom do they ever live up to your expectations and then also you realize that you'll never get to see new episodes of that show again. Shit blows me.

-I'm obssessed with rock and electro-rock currently so I've been listening to a lot of stuff along those lines lately. Cold Dust Girl is one of my fave songs at the moment, it's by this group signed to Lupe's 1st & 15th label called Hey Champ. Definately check em out.

-I LOVE this commercial for some reason lol. It's been forever but it looks like Detox FINALLY may be coming out soon. If your interested in knowing what song that ill ass beat at the end of the video belongs too, it's called Shit Popped Off.

-For all you gamers out there, wasn't E3 dope this year?!?!?! So many games to look forward to in the coming year!!! AGGGHHH!! I would put up my fave trailers but i'll probably do that in a different post.

-These guys are like the Japanese U2, they're called the BOOM BOOM SATELLITES. Their live show is INSANE. I definately gotta see these guys in concert one day.

Well for now ima put an end to this post because I got some things to get ready for today but I may be back here later on tonight for another post. Till then Rock on From Krypton. Have a great day to yall

It's A Family Affair

Saw this new video by Wale called "Family Affair" earlier today and it left me pretty speechless. The song is remniscent of "He Say, She Say" by Lupe Fiasco off his first album and tells the story of the relationship between a pimp and his hoe through the perspectives of the pimp, the hoe and her child. Chillin is cool and all but I'm definately hoping that this one makes his album Attention:Deficit when it drops later on this year. Hope everyone's doin well even though it's pretty gloomy out. Blank Canvas

So today I found out that my ex girlfriend (aka the Best I Ever Had) has a new boyfriend. Now i found out a little while ago that she may be in a relationship but today confirmed it. Now at first I wasn't too bothered by it because we'd been apart for like a year now, but as the day went on it started to eat at me from the inside until I was pretty much ready to crack some skulls. At that moment I knew that I had to get out of my house so that I could clear my head so I call up my dude Drew and we head over to his place to talk and chill. After getting alot of that anger and disappointment out of my system I was left feeling kind of blank. It's funny how you think that you've completely got someone or something out of your system only to realize that deep down you may never fully get over it. She was my first love and my first heartbreak and as pathetic as it sounds a part of me hoped that maybe she'd come back to me one day after I let her go but I guess I'm not exactly that fortunate. I pretty much worked myself to the bone to make our relationship work out while we were together but she found a way to slip out of my hands and now she's found someone new before I have. It's kinda feels like a slap to the face. Lately my friends have individually finding that special one around me while I've been pretty much stuck on the sidelines watching it all happen and staring at the empty seat next to me drifting off into a land of what if? Throughout most of my life i've been known as "the good friend" or "the funny guy" but never really had girls who liked me as a boyfriend. Usually I would like girls and try and let them know but they'd be quick to shoot my down and give me the "let's just be friends" speech or "you're a great guy and I don't wanna lose you as a friend". No one would ever give me the chance to show them that there's more to me than some clown with a good heart and because i'd never get the oppuritunity i slowly became a lonely clown awaiting his next show. Even know as I've matured and gotten older i get the same treatment because no one will just step out and take a risk with me which leaves me once again staring from the sidelines with a fake smile plastered on my face watching other people bask in happiness. Sorry if i sound like a bitch or a little emo but I just needed to get a few things off my chest. I really hope that I can find some paint to bring some life to my blank canvas...
